Ask Internote

A mentor inside every internote.

Ask Internote knows what you're reading — the topic, the scene, the context — and works from there to guide you toward understanding, not just hand you the answer.

Ask Internote
What's the significance of the minus sign here?
Look at the equation above — what does it mean when a rate is negative in this context?

Context

It already knows what you're reading

No pasting. No explaining where you are. Ask reads the internote with you — the topic, the notation used, the specific examples already on the page — and starts from there. Every answer is grounded in the content in front of you.

Ask Internote
I don't understand why we need both conditions
What happens if only the first condition holds and not the second — can you think of a case where that breaks?
Maybe when the function isn't continuous?
Exactly. So what does continuity give you that the first condition alone doesn't?

Approach

It asks back

Ask doesn't recite the answer. It questions, rephrases, and challenges until the understanding is yours. Guided thinking — not given answers.

Available

Inside the document, not a separate app

Ask opens from within every internote. The conversation is grounded in the content in front of you — not a blank chat window you have to fill in yourself.

Privacy

It only sees what you're reading

Ask has access to your display name and the content of the internote you're reading — nothing else. No account details, no email, nothing beyond the current page.

Every subject the platform covers

Mathematics, physics, chemistry, history, literature, computer science — if an internote exists on a topic, Ask can help you work through it.

Frequently Asked Questions

An AI tutor built into every internote. It reads what you're studying — the topic, the notation, the specific examples on the current page — and works from there to guide you toward understanding. Its focus is on helping you build the understanding yourself, not on delivering finished explanations.

A general chatbot starts from a blank context and has no particular reason to be safe for learning. Ask is built specifically for education — it starts from the internote you're reading, knows the topic, the notation, and which section you're on, and shapes its responses to guide understanding rather than just deliver answers. It also runs a separate, model-independent safety check on every response: the safeguards aren't just instructions given to the AI, but an independent layer on top of it. And it stays scoped to what you're studying — it won't engage with content unrelated to the internote in front of you.

It depends on what you're asking. For straightforward clarifications, Ask explains directly. For problems you're working through, it tends to lead with questions and hints rather than solutions — the goal is understanding that belongs to you, not a response you can copy. It can explain why things work, not just what they are.

Ask can see your display name and the content of the internote you're reading — that's the context it works from. It doesn't have access to your account details, email, or anything else. Ask has no memory of previous conversations when you return to an internote. Anonymised chat messages may be reviewed to improve the service.

Ask is in private beta. Access is granted directly — there's no waitlist or request form. We'll announce when it opens more broadly.
